5. Keeping your pet safe- while the image of a pet-friendly trip brings the image of Rex’s ears and tongue flopping in the wind, this isn’t the safest thing for your pet. It’s wiser to secure your pet with a harness, a carrier, or vehicle barriers. Such restraints prevent your pet from slipping and getting seriously hurt. Weight and pet limits vary from hotel to hotel. Some places allow 25lb pets, while others have no restriction. There’s also varying policies towards the number of pets you can bring. The Clarion Hotel in Williamsburg, VA, permits up to three furry friends, but many allow one. On the other hand, like the weight limit, some hotels permit an unlimited number of pets.
